Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ's
  • What Jeep models are available?
Right now we are producing the LJ top only.  We are not currently looking at producing any other models until we are caught up on demand for the LJs.

  • Will my Jeep still fit into my garage with this top?
This is a tall top and if you have a garage, you will need to measure. From the top of the tailgate (rear door) to the garage door opening must be at least 33.5".  Generally, an LJ with 5 1/2 lift and 35s will barely fit a standard garage.

  • How much taller is this top than the factory soft top?
Rear: Top of tailgate to center of rear bow = 33.5" (5.5" higher than factory top)                                                                    Center:Top of tub to center of middle bow = 33.5 (3.5" higher than factory soft top)                                                                Front:Top of front door hinge to top (at angle along windshield frame) = 27.25" (3.25 higher than factory soft top)

  • Will my top work with any of the existing roof racks on the market?
We don't have any data on this yet, however if you do plan to run a roof rack, not only will you need to take into account the above measurements but also keep in mind the rear and sides of this top are completely vertical, whereas the other tops on the market slant inwards from the body of the Jeep to the roof.
  • Will tinting be available for the windows?
All tops will come with dark smoke windows (which is a medium tint).
  • Will the windows scratch if I roll them up?
We use the highest quality, scratch resistant windows, however, no soft windows are impervious to scratching    and care must be taken to keep them in good condition. Rinsing the windows of dust and grit with mild soapy water before rolling them up will greatly prolong the clarity/life of the windows. Also, when off-roading in dense brush, it's recommended to zip the windows off if possible as this can cause scratching.
  • Where is the product made?                                                                                                                                                American Convoy tops are designed, developed, tested, bent, stamped, welded, sewn and powder coated in the USA.
  • What colors are available?                                                                                                                                                                 Desert Sand and Black are available and all hardware is powder coated black.
  • Is drilling or welding required?
Drilling of two, factory style holes are required.  No welding is required.
