Latest update: We ran into some issues with our webbing fading so we are waiting on the new webbing to arrive along with a few other items.  It will be another month before we can start sewing again because of this.  Sorry for the delays.  We hope to have them out soon.

Thank you Kurt. The options on the first run will be desert tan and black. We wanted olive green originally, however the material manufacturer does not offer it. Thanks for the question!

Dylan, you are not necessarily too late. We do have lots of folks signed up (more than the quantity being produced), however some on the list have been waiting a long time and may not opt to buy when the time comes. We are not actively advertising right now for this reason but once they are being produced, everything will start moving more quickly.

Can't wait to get one of these on my LJ! My prediction is that once they start going out to folks you will need to spend about $0.00 on advertising. I think it's awesome how you started this as a project and developed it into a company. 'Merica!

Wow, just found your thread from 2013 while searching for a safari top for a CJ-8 build I'm doing. Impressive and is exactly what I'm looking for. I know from your thread you are a busy, busy individual and I also read the 8 has had your interest. So, are you even leaning toward this awesome top for a CJ in the future? I'm looking at doing TJ doors on it (it's a new aluminum tub so I can do TJ strikers). Great work you have done!
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,
the LJ and TJ tops have proved so time consuming to produce that it is doubtful that we would produce them for CJ8s because we wouldn't be able to sell enough of them, however, if you are in Arizona with your Jeep at any time in the future, stop by and we can play around with the LJ hardware/bows to see if they might fit. If they do, you might be able to retrofit them with some longer lateral bars and then ask a canvas shop to do a custom top. There is always a way to do it if you are willing to put in some time.

I am looking forward to production of the black LJ tops , am somewhere on the pre-order list, and am currently in search of some factory half doors to use with the top. Will your black fabric look right or be a close match with the fabric upper doors offered by Bestop and other vendors? Any new updates on production dates?

Robert, we don't actually have black soft doors to compare them against, unfortunately. If I see any in the future, I will definitely take a look and compare. If you can find out from the manufacturer what material they use, we could certainly check on it for you. We have left them messages asking some unrelated questions in the past and they don't seem to be interested in helping us. ;) The good news is that even though you signed up later than many, most folks wanted the desert sand color so your should have a top on the first run.

Greg,

If you can forward a small swatch of your black fabric, I can take the laboring oar and compare it to Bestop, OEM Mopar, etc. to determine which is the best match so that other purchasers of your black tops won't have to do the same legwork. Let me know.
